Coronavirus Hits Rivers State Government House

The deadly Coronavirus has hit Rivers State government house as SSG, Commissioner for Information tests positive to the virus.

The Delta State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Chiedu Ebie and the State Commissioner for Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu have tested positive to COVID-19.

Both officials exhibited mild symptoms of the virus and consequently subjected themselves to the COVID-19 test which came back positive.

The State government while confirming the development on its official Twitter page on Sunday, said they have been moved to the isolation center.

It also confirmed that the State on Saturday recorded 83 new cases of the infection.

The State has so far recorded 501 confirmed cases and 19 deaths.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire has called on frontline clinicians to consider the use of dexamethasone in the treatment of COVID-19 across the country.
