Kwara State: Mass Defection Hits Ilorin South PDP

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin South Local Government count its losses yesterday June 20, 2020, as there was a mass defection from the party into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP decampees were received amidst funfair by members of APC in Ilorin South LG.

The event which took place at the Ilorin South APC secretariat also marked the inauguration of new excos loyal to Executive Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

The event was graced by top government functionaries as well as the suspended Chairperson of Ilorin South Local Government, Alhaja Fumilayo Salahudeen and her 11 LG Counsellors who recently dumped PDP for APC.

Other notable figures at the event are the Honorable representing Ilorin South constituency, Hon. Hassan Abdulazeez Nillo; S.A Counsellor, Architect Kale Belgore; S.A Special Duties, Yinka Aluko, Hon. Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia sa’adat Moddibo Kawu; and Mallam Akeem Jaji, former Deputy APC Chairman, now Chairman of Ilorin South faction loyal to the Governor.

Ilorin South APC Elders were also in attendance: Alhaji Baba Podo, Alhaji Nuhu Amode, Alhaji Ayinla Alaya, Alhaji Alamoyo and all local Executives, Ward Chairmen loyal to them.

In her speech, Alhaja Fumilayo noted that their purpose for joining APC is to support the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq and for the progress of Kwarans at large. She said within his 365 days in office, the Governor had performed greatly beyond expectations. She commended the Governor’s exemplary patriotism, selflessness and dedication to duty.

Hon Oluwanilo, on the other hand, salutes Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq for his wisdom, hard work and integrity. He said the Governor is a visionary leader who has contributed to the meaningful development of Ilorin South LG and Kwara State at large.

He prayed to Almighty Allah for his divine guidance, good health, and wisdom for the Governor to continue to pilot the affairs of Kwara state and take the state to the promise land.
