Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu crosses the first hurdle towards becoming the Governor of Edo State after defeating other aspirants to emerge the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the September 2020 Governorship election.
The Chairman of Edo State APC Primary Election Committee, Hope Uzodinma declared Ize-Iyamu winner of the direct primary election after collating the results of the 18 Local Government Areas in Edo State.
Ize-Iyamu became the flagbearer of APC after coasting home to victory with a total of 27,838 votes. His closest rival, Dr. Pius Odubu scored 3,776 while Osaro Obazee who came third got 2,751 votes.
