
Kwara NUJ, Correspondents’ Chapel appreciates Kwara Gov for Gidado’s appointment
The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and Correspondents’ Chapel of the union have expressed appreciation to the state Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the appointment of Alhaji Rasaq Gidado Folorunsho as a Federal Commissioner of National Population Commission (NPC).
Gidado, a veteran journalist was recently nominated by Governor AbdulRazaq to fill in the vacancy slot of the state at the National Population Commission, an agency saddled with the responsibility of giving accurate figures of people living in a country at a particular period.
The nominee who was finally confirmed worthy of the position by the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly after a thorough screening by the Senate on Thursday has forwarded their reports to President Muhammadu Buhari for official swearing-in.

While conveying their appreciation message to the Governor, the state chairman of NUJ, Mallam Umar Abdulwahab and Secretary, Deacon Tayo Ayanda said “the appointment of Alhaji Gidado is a good development and another way to prove how much Governor AbdulRazaq value and appreciate Journalists.
The statement added, “it is a thing of joy that the labour of our heroes is no longer in vain”.
Also thanking the Governor, the Correspondents Chapel, in a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Mallam Abdulhakeem Garba and Kayode Abdulazeez respectively said: “Alhaji Gidado is a man imbued with the character of a good person (Omoluabi) who has weathered the storm and deserves the recognition and elevation”.
They, however, prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection for him to be successful on the new national calling.
