For several years, Nigerians have grappled with the menace of SARS/Police brutality in the country.

The purported officers of the Law engage in unlawful conducts. They extort, brutalize, traumatize and murder those they swore an oath to protect.

Ironically, they get away with these brutal acts because those at the helm of affairs failed to tackle the situation head-on.

The impunity of SARS personnel pushed Nigerian youths to breaking limits, so, they fought back.

The 2020 #EndSARS protest is a phenomenon that has never been witnessed in the history of Nigeria.

Nigerian youths have never been this united. The youths have jettisoned Ethnicity, Religion and Societal status to fight for a common cause, “Right to Life”.

They are also demanding the prosecution of officers who murdered their compatriots in cold blood.

The #EndSARS protest which began on Twitter has taken a more definite form.

The dissolution of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and creation of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has not deterred Nigerian youths from proceeding with their protest.

The youths have lost confidence in their leaders and this has increased their resolve to see the protest to a logical conclusion.
