
Kwara South Senator organizes training/empowerment programme for women, youths
The Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District at the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, Senator Oyelola Ashiru organized a 1-week training/empowerment programme for women and youths in his constituency.
The entrepreneurship training which commenced last week Tuesday in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, was organised with the aim of positioning women/youths to be self-employed and self-sufficient.
Beneficiaries were drawn from across four Local Governments (LGs) – Ekiti, Oke-Ero, Irepodun and Isin.
At the end of the training, sector-specific tools were distributed to the beneficiaries to assist them in kickstarting their businesses.
Speaking on the training/empowerment programme, Senator Ashiru said women and youths have great potentials that must be exploited for the benefit of the nation.

The Senator reiterated his commitment towards utilizing his position for the betterment of Kwara South senatorial district.
The beneficiaries were full of praises for the Senator. They attested to his magnanimity and prayed to God to give him the strength and wisdom to take Kwara South to greater heights.
Items distributed include – washing machines, sewing machines, grinding machines, generating sets, amongst others.
