Lawmaker who berated youths caught in CACOVID palliatives scam
A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Amuwo Odofin LCDA Constituency, Hon. Mojisolaoluwa Omokehinde Alli-Macaulay, who berated Nigerian youths, has been caught in the web of CACOVID palliatives scam.
Hon. Mojisolaoluwa had during one of the plenary sessions called on the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to orientate the young people, saying “they need people to talk to them from time to time; they are high on drugs all the time, most of them”.
The Lawmaker made this statement while reacting to the Lekki Toll Gate incident which took place Tuesday, on October 20, 2020.
She proceeded to say “they go to social media, they do all sorts of things. I am even scared to give my young children phones because I am scared of what they would see on the social media. It’s that bad”.

She reiterated the submission of the speaker that unemployment shouldn’t be the reason why youths misbehave, adding that there is unemployment in so many countries of the world, even in the United States.
She narrated that while schooling in the United Kingdon, she saw a lot of youths who were unemployed but they didn’t become hoodlums. She admonished the young people to look for their talent and make a brand of it.
“There is no excuse for being a hoodlum,” she concluded.
However, this statement did not go down well with the youths who felt insulted by someone they gave their mandate to represent them and make their lives better.
Shortly after berating the youths, pictures emerged on social media on how Hon. Mojisolaoluwa diverted palliatives donated to the indigent by the private sector-led Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID), as birthday souvenirs.
The Lawmaker allegedly repackaged items which were vividly labelled “CACOVID” and distributed them to guests during her birthday celebration.
