Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has tested positive for COVID-19, as Lagos State Government harps on strict adherence to safety measures.
The COVID-19 status of the Governor was revealed in a Tweet on the official Twitter handle of Lagos State Government on Saturday.
According to the statement, Gov. Sanwo-Olu contracted the virus following his exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19.
The statement noted that the Governor is receiving treatment and is being closely monitored at home by the State COVID-19 clinical team from IDH Yaba.
Given the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the state, Lagos State Government has advised residents and visitors to strictly adhere to the prescribed advisories of safe distancing, mask-wearing, good hand and respiratory hygiene, and avoidance of large gatherings.
It also directed that all inbound travellers must be COVID-19 negative by PCR before they board a flight to Nigeria and must self-isolate on arrival and undergo a pre-booked test on Day Seven of arrival in Nigeria.
