The Kwara State Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) has been removed by the National Caretaker Committee of the party.
Hon. Bolarinwa’s removal was confirmed by the Secretary of the National Caretaker Committee of the APC, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, when he received a faction loyal to the embattled party chairman in Abuja on 12th January, 2021.
Sequel to Bolarinwa’s removal on 4th January 2021, his Deputy, Hon. Abdullahi Samari Abubakar was handed down the mantle of leadership.
It will be recalled that following the dissolution of all state, LG and ward Executives of the APC in December 2020, Bolarinwa, alongside other State party chairmen, was sworn-in as the Kwara State Chairman of the Caretaker Committee on 11th December, 2020, by the Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee.
Multiple sources within the APC in Kwara State disclosed that Bolarinwa’s removal is not unconnected with his public insubordination to the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
