ODU, Oloriewe laud Commencement of OGS-Access Road Construction in Oro

The Kwara Sate government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commenced the construction of the Access Road to Oro Grammar School (OGS) in Oro, Kwara State.

The Governor broke the jinx of long years of neglect in which the said road from NITEL junction to ECWA Church had; making it to complement the comprehensive renovation and construction of additional facilities at the iconic OGS, Oro.

In addition to the above, rehabilitation of Iludun Oro Water Works which serves the entire Oro Land and beyond, and Comprehensive Renovation of the General Hospital, Oro are said to be underway.

The National President, Oro Descendants Union (ODU), the apex sociocultural organisation in Oro kingdom,
Alhaji Uthman Tunji Balogun expressed joy over the kickoff of the project which came without much hassles.

Balogun, a retired principal in the school, therefore urged all sons and daughters of Oro Kingdom to continue supporting the present administration in its programmes and policies.

Also speaking on the development, Alhaji AbdulRaheem Adedoyin, Oloriewe of Oro Kingdom and a political leader in Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State said it was an attestation to the fact that the governor is prepared to cater for all Kwarans. “He (the Governor) doesn’t discriminate against anyone, in as much as you are a Kwaran, he said.

According to Adedoyin, “By the new plan, the present administration is working towards making Oro Ward 1, Oro Ward 2 and Esie/Ijan Ward another urbanized region. ”

Oloriewe Adedoyin, a seasoned journalist, added that the government had earlier completed the Esie Museum Road and people had since put it to use, even as they share the joy of the renovation of a block of 4 classrooms and workshop building at Esie/ Iludun Technical College.
