Senator Ashiru Walks the Talk on Education Reform in Kwara South

The Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district, Sen. Oyelola Ashiru has once again shown his commitment towards Education Reform in Kwara South.

Last week, we reported that Sen. Ashiru reiterates commitment to Education development, facilitates construction of classrooms in Oyun LG school.

As part of his commitment to the development of education in Kwara South, Senator Ashiru has also facilitated the construction of a Block of 3 classrooms in Ejiu-Ile, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Ejiu-Ile is a village that has never experienced government presence. For years, pupils attended classes under a tree before an indigene temporarily gave them a house which was later converted to a residence. The pupils were subsequently displaced with no other option than to return to the tree shed.

Reacting to the block of 3 classrooms facilitated by Sen. Ashiru to the community, HRM Oba Anthony Ajibade Ogundana, the Olu of Ejiu-Ile said: “this project is what the Ejiu community describes as a University.” He called it an answered prayer of many years.

The Kabiesi added that Ejiu-Ile is the only community without a school in the whole of Ekiti Local Government. Lamenting further on the difficulty of pupils advancing in their education, he sadly recall how many of their children have dropped out because of unavailability of secondary school, while some did not make attempt of getting primary education due to the distasteful state of learning.

Due to the fertility of the land, Ejiu-Ile has more than 20 farm settlement comprising of different tribes.

The on-going construction is a Capital Project of the 2020 Appropriation Bill.
