
Isin LG takes stringent measures against insecurity
Isin Local Government (LG) has resolved to take stringent measures against insecurity following the recent kidnap of a prominent farmer, Alaga Olayemi in Oke-Onigbin by suspected bandits.
The TIC Chairman of Isin LG, Engr. Tunde Fadipe and the Isin Traditional Rulers under the leadership of Olusin Isanlu-Isin, Oba Solomon Olugbenga Oloyede took this stand after a closed-door meeting Thursday afternoon.
The following resolutions were made:
- The setting up of a 7 man security committee to promote and develop a special community base Isin Security Task Force.
- The seven-man committee comprises government representatives, traditional rulers, vigilante groups, and local hunters.
- The committee will provide all necessary assistance that will support all the government security architecture and institutionalize basic community policing.
The Olusin of Isanlu-Isin, while commenting on the resolution, described the efforts of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on security and infrastructure in the state and Isin in particular as fantastic and commendable.
He, however, noted that the security should not be left in the hands of the government alone, the community also must also be vigilant to gather information, intelligence, and good community security structure that will help the government to have a firm grip on the security situation at all times.
The Olusin of Ijara-Isin, Oba Ademola Ajibola Julius who praised the governor for being open and sensitive to the plights of the people of Kwara State, also described the Isin TIC Chairman, Engr. Tunde Fadipe as fit for the job as his intelligence and energy is necessary to establish a strong administrative direction and Institution in Isin Local Government.
Speaking after the meeting, Engr. Tunde Fadipe thanked all the Obas in the meeting. He assured them of government support at all times, not only in terms of security but in all the areas they might need government intervention.
He described Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a man of the people and a leader who doesn’t joke with the security and welfare of the people.
The 7 man Security Committee which has the TIC Chairman as the Chairman, has swung to action immediately. The traditional rulers promised to raise Two Million Naira to assist the committee to effectively discharge its mandate.
