Job seeker lured to fake interview gruesomely murdered

A job seeker, Iniobong Umoren who was lured to a fake job interview has been gruesomely murdered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

According to reports, the deceased was invited for a job interview on Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Ibiaku Ibiaku along Oron road (Airport Road), Uyo.

Some moments after she got to her destination, she sensed danger and sent a 1 sec WhatsApp voice note to her friend whom she had been in contact with while on her way to the purported interview.

The worried friend immediately put a call through to Iniobong and heard her screaming for help. The call was abruptly disconnected and that was the last that was heard of her.

Shortly after her story went viral on social media, the internet was used to unmask Iniobong’s abductor, one Uduak Frank Akpan.

Iniobong met her Waterloo after taking to Twitter to tweet about searching for a job.

“#AkwaIbomTwitter please I’m really in need of a job, something to do to keep mind and soul together while contributing dutifully to the organisation. My location is Uyo, I’m creative, really good at thinking critically and most importantly a fast learner. CV available on request,” she tweeted.

The tweet subsequently exposed her to her killer who lured her to his house in the guise of an interview, murdered her and buried her in a shallow grave.

Iniobong’s murderer has confessed to the crime and he is presently cooling his feet in police net.
