Kwara Dep Gov, Deputy Speaker, MM, Saliu Mustapha, Jani Ibrahim, others grace Oloriewe Mum’s Fidau

The Fidau prayer of Oloriewe Raheem Adedoyin’s mother, Princess Awawu Ajibike Adedoyin, which took place in Ijomu Oro, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State, on Thursday, had in attendance dignitaries from all parts of the State and beyond.

Madam Adedoyin, a Princess of Oro Kingdom, died on Friday, May 7, 2021, and was buried in Ijomu Oro the same day.

Dignitaries who graced the Fidau prayer included – the Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Alabi; the Deputy Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon. Raphael Adetiba; Hon. Moshood Mustapha (MM); Mallam Saliu Mustapha; AU Mustapha (SAN); LUBCON CEO, Alh. Jani Ibrahim; Special Adviser on Special Duties to Kwara State Governor, Hon. Yinka Aluko; the Vice Chancellor of Augustine University, Prof. Christopher Odetunde; Sen. Makanjuola Ajadi; Barr. (Mrs) Dupe Adejumo; Chief Sunday Ibitoye; Hon. Kayode Towoju; Hon. Bode Towoju; the Chairman of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kwara State Chapter and Chairman of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Ifelodun LG, Hon. Jide Ashonibare; TIC Chairmen of Isin LG, Engr Tunde Fadipe and his counterparts from Oke-Ero and Irepodun LGs, Victor Yusuf and Jide Oyinloye; and Akinrogun Segun Olawoyin.

Olayemi Olabanji; Mr. Opeyemi Olabanji, Alh. Tunde Bakare, Mrs Dorcas Opeyemi; Mrs Habibat Obafaiye; Engr Muri Sayi; Engr Timothy Niyi Adebayo; and members of Oloriewe Think Tank Forum.

Delegation of Oloriewe’s classmates in Unilag led by Mr. Fred Ohwahwa and Oloriewe’s Premier Club, Aura Club 86 led by Alh. Tajudeen Adigun and other eminent personalities were present at the Fidau prayer of mama.

Princess Awawu who died at the age of 90 left her footprints on the sands of time. Little wonder why the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq described her as “a great mother and a consummate women community leader whose contributions to humanity were known in the ancient Oro kingdom,” in a condolence message issued on Friday, 7th May, 2021.

Extolling the virtues of Princess Awawu Adedoyin, the Chairman of Crystal House and stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Moshood Mustapha said mama was a wonderful mother who treated everyone as her children.

“The lesson that mama taught most of us is to be upright, steadfast and courageous. She will be sorely missed, especially her great admonishments”, he said.

MM prayed to almighty Allah to forgive Mama Adedoyin’s shortcomings and grant the children she left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.

Princess Awawu Ajibike Adedoyin is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
