Sen. Ashiru set to commence road construction projects in Omuaran
… Consults Olomu, ODA, Community leaders
The senator representing Kwara South Senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Oyelola Ashiru is set to commence road construction projects in Omuaran, Irepodun LG, after due consultations with the Olomu of Omuaran, ODA and other community elders.
Speaking during his working visit to Omuaran, Ashiru appreciated the community’s continual support for the All Progressives Congress (APC). He commended the Olomu of Omuaran, Oba AbdulRasheed Adeoti, for his fatherly role and his yearnings for the development and economic expansion of the town.
“Omuaran is an important cosmopolitan town in Kwara South. The two important road construction projects in the main metropolis is to support the State Government’s infrastructure agenda. I assure you that the contractor will make use of indigenous materials, including the workforce,” he said.
Speaking further, the Senator noted that the project is in recognition of the enormous support of his esteemed friends in Omuaran with whom he has a shared history.

Omuaran the capital of Irepodun Local Government, is a metropolitan town and a centre that shares proximity with three other Local Governments, and an access route to Kogi and Ekiti State. Omuaran is the political capital of Kwara South Senatorial District.
In a separate meeting, the Olomu and Omuaran Descendant Union (ODA) National Executive led by Major General Abidoye (Rtd) appreciated the Senator for his effort within Kwara South.
The Olomu stated that for expansion of economic growth of Omuaran, there is need for Federal Government to site a tertiary institution in the town, and to dualize the primary road, which is a regional road that leads to Kogi State.
Ashiru had a stopover at the Irepodun Local Government Secretariat where he charged the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) members to justify the confidence repose on them by the State Government, and to unite the party at their local domains.
The lawmaker attended Jum’ah service at Omuaran central mosque, with Olomu of Omuaran and ODA President, amongst others.
The Senator was also received by Oloro of Oro-Ago, Oba Johnson Dada, amongst other dignitaries.
