Afolabi emerges Kwara CDHR Chairman

The Kwara State Chapter of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) has elected new officials into the office to pilot its affairs for the next two years. Those elected into office are, Comrade Afolabi Lukman Olanrewaju, Chairman, Comrade Hafiz Idris, Secretary and Comrade Taiwo Akinyemi, Treasurer. They are returned as newly elected officials of the Kwara State Chapter of the CDHR respectively.

The election was held under the supervision of the CDHR’s National Chairman, Dr. Osagie Obayuwana who was ably represented by Ag. National Secretary, Comrade Kabir Ibrahim.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Afolabi commends all members for a peaceful electoral process, calling Kwara State Governor and other government agencies for support.

He said, “let me use this medium to seek the cooperation of the State Governor, HE Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, the Honourable Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Service and other constitutionally saddled agency with the responsibility of maintaining Peace, Order and Security in the State”.

CDHR’s National Chairman, Dr. Osagie Obayuwana in his message, commended members for their peaceful conduct during the election, urging the new executive to uphold the objectives of the organisation.

In his remarks, the Chairman Electoral Committee, Comrade Segun Olanrewaju thanks all members of his committee for a job well-done. Also, the former Vice Chairman of the organisation, Comrade Idris Saka commended all members for the peaceful electoral process.

Other new executives inaugurated were Comrade Jimoh Ibrahim from Offa Unit as Internal Auditor, Comrade Olatunde Ruben as PRO, Comrade Ibrahim Remilekun, Legal Adviser, and Comrade Ajayi Ademola, Assistant Secretary.
