Voice of Tomorrow Summit: Kwara Tertiary Institutions To Participate In Debate Competition

Tertiary institutions across Kwara State are expected to participate in debate competition at the Voice of Tomorrow Summit holding in Ilorin on Saturday.

The Technical Assistant to the Kwara state Governor on Investment, Alhaji Kabir Shagaya gave this hint on Friday while briefing newsmen at the state capital.

Kabir Shagaya said a representative from each higher institution will participate in a debate on the topic: “Why my School is better than yours” , noting that winners will be compensated handsomely.

He revealed that the Voice of Tomorrow Summit with the theme “Responsibilities and Expectations that Come with Influence” focuses on mentoring future leaders for the betterment of the state and Nigeria.

Shagaya revealed that the event holding at Banquet Hall Ilorin by 1pm on Saturday will help the youth understand the responsibilities that comes with the position, influence and having a voice that count.

His words: “Voice of Tomorrow is an initiative put together to guide the leaders of tomorrow, because the problems we have in this country are embedded in the system we are working with”

“As a youths and leaders of tomorrow, we need to start making necessary changes, which is important to push us to the next level and move us forward. The summit is aim to help the youth understand the responsibilities that comes with the position, influence and having a voice that count”

“We all have a voice in different capacities and we must understand how to use it appropriately to push our country forward.”

The Technical Adviser on Investment used the opportunity to appreciate his Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other cabinet members for the support they have been giving him, added that the state is on the right path to economic well-being.

Responding to question on the category of people expecting at the Summit as participants, he said forty students from each tertiary Institution across the state through their Union leaders will take part in the event to attended by successful youths in politics, business and governance.
