Multi-billion dollar Dangote Refinery ready for full operations

The multi-billion dollar Dangote Refinery is ready for full operations and will be launched on 22nd May by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Dangote Oil Refinery is a 650,000 barrels per day (BPD) integrated refinery project in the Lekki Free Zone near Lagos.

On the proposed launch, the Special Assistant to the President on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad said:

“Efforts by the Federal Government to make Nigeria self-sufficient in local refining of crude oil and save the scarce foreign exchange used in the importation of petroleum products have received a boost.

“The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Refinery, the world’s largest single-train refinery, is set for inauguration on May 22nd, 2023, by President Muhammadu Buhari.”

The Dangote Refinery is expected to be Africa’s biggest oil refinery and the world’s biggest single-train facility.

The Pipeline Infrastructure at the refinery is the largest anywhere in the world, with 1,100 kilometres to handle three billion standard cubic feet of gas per day.

The Refinery alone has a 435MW Power Plant that can meet the total power requirement of Ibadan DisCo.

The Refinery will meet 100 per cent of the Nigerian requirement of all refined products and also have a surplus of each of these products for export.

The multi-billion dollar project that will create a market for $21 Billion per annum of Nigerian crude.

The Dangote Refinery is designed to process Nigeria’s and other crude.
