Kwara Central: Yinka Aluko speaks on Senatorial ambition, marginalization of Ilorin South

The Special Adviser on Special Duties to Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Yinka Aluko has decried the marginalization of three out of the four Local Government Areas in Kwara Central Senatorial district.

Speaking with members of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) at his GRA Ilorin residence Sunday evening, Aluko disclosed that the reason he had been aspiring to represent Kwara Central at the Senate since 2015 was due to the age long marginalization of his Local Government, Ilorin South.

“I have been aspiring to represent Kwara Central at the Senate since 2015, it was majorly because of the age long marginalization of the 3 remaining Senatorial District in Kwara Central, Asa, Ilorin South and Ilorin East. More importantly, Ilorin South where I come from a from which has suffered the marginalization the most,” he said.

“Sadly, regardless of the landmark Otoge achievement of 2019, the marginalization of Ilorin South still persists” he added.

When asked if he’ll throw his hat in the ring once again, he said “The stage we’re in, I might not be able to emphatically talk about my 2023 aspiration, because I belong to a group where we’re still trying to cross the T and dotting the I and until that is done, it’ll be preemptive to talk in the specifics, but I want to assure you in the next couple of days we’ll take a definite stand”.

Appreciating him for always identifying with the Association, Salihu Shola Taofeek, the Association’s Chairman assured him of the group’s professionalism, stressing that he can be rest assured of balanced and fair reportage of the political sphere.
